The past couple of months we've been making slow but steady progress digesting and processing the nearly 200 hours of footage we gathered in India.

I've got an assistant editor (from my alma mater, USC) who is viewing and organizing the footage, selecting the parts we think are good and putting aside the rest. It is a mountain of work and the benefits of it will only be seen once we have a full-time editor who comes on and is faced with 30-odd hours instead of 200. But it's been fun to see some of the amazing stuff we were able to shoot and I can't wait to see it start to come together.

Visually, we have some terrific footage of India, especially from our bike journey with Sudhir and some of the incredible B-roll we shot in Mumbai. It's also great to see that each of our characters has a dramatic personal story and I hope we can do justice to them all.

The biggest challenge is to raise sufficient funds to pay for the expensive post process, and I haven't begun to seriously reach out to potential investors. But I think when people see some of the footage, they will find it hard to deny the potential of this little film.

In the meantime, we keep chipping away at the footage. Post is not nearly as glamorous sounding as production, I know. But it is fun. Somewhat.

I've also been in touch with Sudhir in India. I call him quite often and for the past few weeks he has been trying desperately to find someone to sponsor him to go to England to see India's tour there. It is beyond my means to help him and he is starting to give up on getting help for this trip from the Indian team and other friends he has requested. I try to tell him that there will be another chance to make his maiden overseas voyage. In any case with the way India is getting thrashed right now in England, he is better off missing it, I tell him. But he is inconsolable. I think the World Cup victory has raised his aspirations. He has endless energy and enthusiasm for the game. And as always he is great fun to talk to.
